Artic environmental impact assessment
Artic environmental impact assessment was established as the follow up for the
Guidelines for Arctic Environmental Impact Assessment, which was adopted by the
ministers of the Arctic Countries in their Alta Declaration of 1997. It is an
instrument to disseminate information on Arctic EIA activities. It is maintained
by a contactgroup having representatives in each Arctic Country and hosted by
the Arctic Centre in Finland. ARIA is intended to be as a practical means for
authorities, developers, and local people to find information and make contacts
on Environmental Impact Assessment. |
